Kaua’i property tax due February 22

LIHU’E – The second installment of property taxes for the 2021-2022 tax year is due Tuesday, February 22 for Kaua’i homeowners.

Property taxes are normally due each year on February 20, however, since February 20 is a Sunday and February 21 is the Presidents’ holiday, taxpayers will be permitted to pay their property tax on Tuesday, February 22, without incurring any sanction.

Property tax bills were mailed on January 20, 2022. If you have not yet received your bill, please call the Property Collections Division at 808-241-4272.

Payments can be made online at kauairpt.ehawaii.gov, by mail, in person, or at the drop box located outside the Kapule Building at the Lihu’e Civic Center. Please make checks payable to the Director of Finance.

No appointment is required to view the real estate collections, but access to the Kapule lobby may be restricted to adhere to social distancing guidelines, so the remote payment options outlined above are preferred .

Failure to pay property taxes in full by February 22 will result in a 10% penalty, plus 12% interest per annum.
