POLAND — Wasatch Lake has announced the addition of a husband-and-wife team to reside in and manage the 400-acre private retreat and woodland getaway.

Ryan and Tara Cummings joined the Wasatch Lake team in the fall of 2021 and look forward to taking care of the property and managing guest experiences.

“With such a love of the outdoors and over 25 years of combined hospitality experience, Wasatch Lake is the perfect place for Ryan and Tara to apply their skills and passions,” said Wasatch Owner Turner Woodard. Lake.

Tara graduated from Hanover College with a liberal arts degree and Ryan graduated from Indiana University Kelley School of Business with a major in finance. The couple met in Bloomington and moved together to Indianapolis in 2014, and it was there that they began their career in the hospitality industry.

Both Ryan and Tara have worked for various style restaurants in a variety of positions including responsibilities as server, bartender, cook, butler and general manager.

After two decades in the restaurant business, they knew they wanted to eventually leave town for a home among the trees. A part-time skill of Ryan’s, home furniture repair, led them to a chance encounter helping the Woodards in Wasatch Lake. They quickly fell in love with the property and are excited to help it continue to thrive as a unique weekday, weekend or weekday country getaway.

In their spare time, Ryan is a collage artist and Tara makes handmade leather journals. Tara is also a beekeeper and gardener. “We are thrilled to have this opportunity to be stewards of such a beautiful property,” Tara said. “We feel like we are the lucky ones to welcome guests to the property and watch them enjoy this beautiful piece of Indiana countryside.”
